What happens when I switch to a new electric provider?
It is very SIMPLE and easy. Once you have chosen a new electric provider and they have accepted a contract then your new electric provider will contact ERCOT and your TDSP (Local Wires Company) to make the switch. You don’t even have to call your old provider. Your new electric provider will change the electric service on your next meter read. YOUR ELECTRICITY WILL NEVER BE DISRUPTED DUE TO THE SWITCH. You will continue to have invoices mailed to you from your old provider until you are paid in full, so be aware of any outstanding balances with your old provider.
Once this is all taken care of then you are in good hands with an electric provider that is charging you less and a great consultant firm to serve as your advocate in case of any mistakes on your bills or problems that may occur while under contract.
